Jonathan J. Tuggle Founding Shareholder
Jonathan J. Tuggle represents clients in every aspect of family law, specializing in complex, high-income divorce cases. He is a founding shareholder of Boyd Collar Nolen Tuggle & Roddenbery.
Respected as one of the top family lawyers in the Atlanta area, Jonathan is an experienced litigator and fierce advocate for his clients, providing them steady guidance through whatever legal or personal challenges they may face. He has built his reputation representing executives, professionals, business owners, public figures, and their spouses, with exceptional discretion.
Jonathan is solution-oriented and brings a wealth of experience in devising creative ways to resolve complicated and emotionally charged disputes. In all instances, Jonathan works closely with his clients to develop a strategy tailored to achieving a successful outcome for their case, whether through litigation or a negotiated settlement.
Throughout his legal career, Jonathan has served in a number of leadership positions in the State Bar of Georgia. He is a former chair of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia (2013-2014), and previously founded the Family Law Committee of the Younger Lawyers Division of the Georgia Bar, which has raised money for abused and neglected adolescents in Atlanta, and Georgia Legal Services, a statewide, nonprofit law firm providing civil legal services to Georgians with low income.
For two years, Jonathan served as president of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court, an association of family lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals dedicated to ethics and professional excellence. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Jonathan has an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability. For two consecutive years beginning in 2021, he has been recognized by legal directory Chambers and Partners in its High Net Worth Guide in the category of Family/Matrimonial law for the state of Georgia – achieving a bank ranking of “Band 2,” a very prestigious ranking given by Chambers. He has been honored by Atlanta Magazine as one of Georgia’s “Top 100 Super Lawyers” for all areas of legal practice since 2015, and in prior years as a “Super Lawyer” and “Rising Star.” In 2012, Georgia Trend named Jonathan to its annual list of “40 Under 40-Georgia’s Best and Brightest.” Since 2011, he has also been selected by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the area of family law, and has been listed by Georgia Trend as one of the state’s “Legal Elite.” Jonathan is also a frequent lecturer at professional seminars and continuing legal education courses and has authored numerous articles on a range of domestic relations issues.
Jonathan and his wife, also an attorney, live in Atlanta with their son. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, cooking, traveling, and following University of Georgia football.
