Katie Kiihnl Leonard

Katie Kiihnl Leonard dedicates her practice exclusively to family law. She has successfully represented high-asset clients in simple and complex actions for divorce, child custody, support and alimony, modification of previous orders, paternity and legitimation, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and contempt actions. She is trained as a guardian ad litem and has considerable trial experience in family law, especially contested divorce actions and complex child custody cases.

Katie regularly speaks and writes articles on family law topics, including attorney fees, and financial and custody issues. She serves as a member-at-large on the State Bar’s Family Law Section Executive Committee and was co-chair of the Bar’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Family Law Committee from 2014 through 2016, where she organized a series of “Meet the Judges” events in the metro-Atlanta counties to facilitate networking between judges and young lawyers.

Katie enjoys mentoring young legal minds through the State Bar’s High School Mock Trial and Intrastate Moot Court Competitions.

A native of Memphis, Katie now lives in Marietta with her husband, Judge Robert D. Leonard II of the Superior Court of Cobb County. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time on the lake with their two black labs, Memphis and Tuck.
