Katie Kiihnl Parker earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration cum laude from the University of Tennessee. She is a graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law, where she participated in Moot Court, the Public Action Law Society, and was trained as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (“C.A.S.A.”) to represent the needs of children in child custody and deprivation cases. During her third year of law school, Katie attended the Georgia State University College of Law where she earned the Custer-Tuggle Award for Excellence in Family Law from the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Family Law. Prior to joining Boyd Collar Nolen & Tuggle, Katie was an associate with Kessler & Solomiany.
Beginning with her first internship during law school, Katie has dedicated her practice exclusively to the area of family law. During her career, Katie has successfully represented clients in high asset divorce cases, as well as complex child custody cases, including actions for legitimation, paternity, and modification of custody, child support and/or parenting time. In addition, Katie was trained by the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation to serve as a Guardian ad Litem, and provides her services to the Fulton County “reduced fee” Guardian ad Litem program. Outside of her legal practice, Katie has been an active member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division Family Law Committee, which sponsors the annual Supreme Cork silent auction and wine tasting to benefit Atlanta legal charities. Katie is also a graduate of the YLD Leadership Academy, where she gained invaluable insight and training on the inner-workings of the Georgia legislature, appellate judiciary, professionalism, and pro bono legal initiatives.
Katie is admitted to the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Katie now lives in Atlanta with her husband, Kyle Parker, a civil litigation attorney, and their two rambunctious labrador retrievers, Jake and Memphis. Katie is a spirited alumna of the University of Tennessee and enjoys college sporting events. In her spare time, Katie serves on the Advisory Board to the Delta Zeta chapter at Georgia State University.
